Introduction ProductXpress

The introductory training is intended for those who plan to use ProductXpress and for those who will deal with ProductXpress indirectly, such as those working in the actuarial sector, IT, architecture, product management, legal affairs, marketing and sales as well as interested management.

The goal is to give interested parties an overview of the functionalities of ProductXpress and insight into possible applications.

The training programme consists of interactive demonstrations given in four hours.

The course material consists of a handout of the presentation.

Basic Training

This is the start for everyone who is going to work with ProductXpress, such as actuaries, product designers or functional designers. Course participants are expected to have followed the introductory training session and to have some knowledge of mathematics.

This training, which provides course participants with insight into the basic functionalities of ProductXpress, focuses on the practical use of ProductXpress. After having completed this training programme, participants can use ProductXpress and can make, test and document (product) models in ProductXpress.

This is a five-day training that contains various exercises. Each exercise is preceded by the related theory and a demonstration by the trainer of how the exercise is done. Participants are then expected to do the exercises independently.

The course material consists of a syllabus with presentations and exercises. A server installation of ProductXpress Designer and sufficient Designer Clients are necessary.

Basic Training for Integrators

This basic training programme is aimed at everyone who is involved in integrating ProductXpress into the existing system architecture, such as system integrators and managers as well as the architects.

This training provides course participants with insight into the modelling possibilities for product developers and the way in which the integration of ProductXpress and the deployment of the calculations to the various component systems within the existing or desired architecture can be realized.

This is a two-day training that contains various exercises. Each exercise is preceded by the related theory and a demonstration by the trainer of how the exercise is done. Participants are then expected to do the exercises independently.

The course material consists of a syllabus with presentations and exercises. A server installation of ProductXpress Designer (with Repository) and sufficient Designer Clients are necessary.

Training Tests

The training programme for tests is intended for people who are going to test models in ProductXpress, such as modellers and acceptation testers. Participants are expected to have followed the introduction to ProductXpress training.

The goal of this training is to quickly teach the participants about the test facilities of ProductXpress so they can begin to work as testers. Participants are trained in testing functions and structures and in using several tests sets and test cases. After having followed this training programme, participants can independently test and document (product) models in ProductXpress.

This is a two-day training that contains various exercises. Each exercise is preceded by the related theory and a demonstration by the trainer of how the exercise is done. Participants are then expected to do the exercises independently.

The course material consists of a syllabus with presentations and exercises. A server installation of ProductXpress Designer and sufficient Designer Clients are necessary.

Workshop Integration and Deployment

The workshop integration and deployment is intended for those who must integrate ProductXpress into production.

Participants are expected to have followed the introduction to ProductXpress training and the basic training for integrators.

The workshop will focus on:

  • System architecture
  • Integration of Calculator as a service
  • Integration of Calculator as a “black box” in a component system
  • External functions and tables
  • Operational management
  • Performance optimization

The workshop consists of two sessions. The exact contents can be determined in consultation with the trainer.

The course material consists of a copy of the presentation. A server installation of ProductXpress Designer and sufficient Designer Clients are necessary.

Workshop Advanced Topics

This workshop is for those people who make advanced use of ProductXpress. Participants are expected to have followed the introduction to ProductXpress training and the basic training programme and to have practical modelling experience in ProductXpress as well as some knowledge of XML.

The goal of this workshop is to train advanced users in the more advanced possibilities of ProductXpress so that they can make optimum use of ProductXpress in their organization.

The workshop consists of two sessions. The exact contents can be determined in consultation with the trainer.

The course material consists of a copy of the presentation. A server installation of ProductXpress Designer and sufficient Designer Clients are necessary.

Advanced Framework Development

This workshop is for those who develop generic models in ProductXpress and who are involved in determining the preferred method of modelling. Participants are expected to have followed the introduction to ProductXpress training and the basic training and to have sufficient practical modelling experience in ProductXpress as well as some knowledge of XML.

During the workshop theoretical knowledge will be combined with the practical development of models based on the client’s products. In addition to training focusing on modelling frameworks and products, attention will also be given to the process of deriving reusable and maintainable framework models from concrete products. The general theory of modelling frameworks will be translated into modelling in ProductXpress. During the workshop, the first steps can be taken toward developing a framework manual for the client’s organization.
